So it's finally here, the day a lot of us have been waiting for - the 1st December and for many, the official start to the festive preparations and celebrations. It's no secret that I adore Christmas...the cosy nights in by the fire, shopping at the fayres and markets, catching up with friends and family and of course, all of the wonderful food!
But just before I get stuck into elf-mode, I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite images from, in my opinion, the best season of the year...
Autumn!
No season offers quite as many colours and visual changes as this one, and September through to the end of November is the time when I most look forward to my outdoor photo sessions...from pre-wedding shoots, to family portraiture, to couples' sessions during the quiet time on a wedding day, I've been spoilt by all the lovely people and nature I have been privileged to work with.
Rebecca & Aaron - Pre-Wedding Session at Sutton Coldfield Park
We couldn't have asked anything more from this wonderful location - well ok, perhaps a little bit of sunshine wouldn't have gone down too badly! - last month when Becky, Aaron and myself met for their engagement photo session. I particularly love this first image under the big oak tree.
Bella's 3 Month Portrait Session
As clients go, I have to say I hold a soft spot for this family! I spent 2015 following the first year of little Laila, from a maternity shoot with her parents through to her 1st Birthday party. Now it is her little sister Bella's turn! We arranged a themed Autumn/Halloween shoot - believe it or not in the middle of Tamara and Aaron's lounge! - and Bella was more than happy to pose for the camera...up until she decided to take a nap on my props!
Sharon & Peter's Vow Renewal - Stourbridge
I absolutely loved working with Sharon and Pete and their daughter Jess. Such a genuinely lovely family - and great fun to be around too. From their pre-wedding session at Haden Hill Park I knew their Vow Renewal day was going to be full of laughter and it certainly lived up to expectations. They chose to renew their vows exactly 15 years after their original wedding day; same church, same time, they even took a bottle of Champagne gifted to them on their wedding day to open at the reception! There were some beautiful autumnal decorations at the reception venue and the rain held off long enough for us to take a trip to Mary Stevens Park for some outdoor shots.
Laura & Matthew's Wedding at Moxhull Hall, Sutton Coldfield
Wow! What an amazing wedding to end the Autumn on. A beautiful day from start to finish at possibly one of my favourite venues. It was one of the most glorious Autumn sunsets we have seen this year so the perfect backdrop to Laura and Matt's couple shots in the grounds of the Hall. The sunlight provided a wonderful mood and allowed me to produce some of my favourite shots from this year.
