Just when I had gotten used to the craziness that was Summer 2016, it was over and along came September, bringing with it a lot of rain! The rain followed me to Gloucester where I was to photograph the lovely Vickey and Will's Hardwicke Church ceremony followed by a reception at the very beautiful Hatton Court Hotel.
Despite the weather, we ploughed on (with the help of a lot of borrowed umbrellas and some efficient outdoor scheduling from myself!) and what an absolute fantastic day it was. From walking into Vickey's bridal suite in the morning through to the very last print dropping out of the Photo Booth I don't remember a time when I wasn't smiling at this wedding!
Hatton Court is a wonderful venue to work at, both in terms of the location and the staff, who really did help make the day run so smoothly. The marquee looked amazing - complete with metres and metres of bunting all impressively hand-sewn by Vickey's Mum. The photo booth went down an absolute storm, as well as a surprise dance routine from the bride and bridesmaids..something Will clearly wasn't expecting by the expression on his face!
Hatotn Court provided a perfect backdrop to some lovely couple shots before the wedding breakfast (and in between the rain!) and I can't wait to be back there again in January :)
One of the key aspects of my wedding photography is the documentary style that I have; photographing my couples' days as they unfold, rather than spending my time setting up shots and posing the couple and this wedding is a classic example of this. If you are planning a Gloucestershire wedding in the near future and would like more information, please get in touch to arrange a free, no obligation meeting with me - it's never too early...
