Hi! Wow it's been a while...I must apologise for my extended absence from blogging. I guess I got a little too comfortable with the whole winter break thing! However, something I have been doing a lot of lately is attending wedding fayres and meeting new couples to work with in 2016 and 2017. This is just one part of being a wedding photographer that I adore - meeting new people, learning the stories of their relationships and their plans for their wedding days.

I have realised from my talks with new brides and grooms (and from my previous clients in 2014 and last year) that the presence and popularity of vintage in modern weddings in ever increasing. This I absolutely love; I have always said I was born a few decades too late! The music, style, decorations...I just love how something so simple can be so beautiful! I can't wait to get stuck in with a few of these this wedding season.

It has got me thinking a lot about a wonderful wedding I covered in late 2014. The dominating theme was 1940s! And wow did they do it justice!

Cheryl and Matt tied the knot at Pershore Registry Office in November. It was an intimate ceremony with close friends and family attending (much as it would have been in the 40s) followed by a lunch in the cafe at Croome Court - this an old WWII hospital converted into a museum would you believe - and an evening reception at their local village hall. The lunch was followed by a gorgeous couple session around the grounds of Croome Court and we even got the use of the Court's old WWII Tea Van - aptly named "Bertha"! 

The bride and groom and their families made everything themselves, from the decorations at the reception venue, to the bride's knitted day dress (the purple one in the photographs - handmade by her Nan) even down to the lace and knitted bouquet and the guys' paper buttonholes! Such a fantastic day with all the guests - and even myself towards the evening (well you have to embrace the theme right?!) - dressed in period costume. A pleasure to be part of, and one I will remember for years to come!
